After-school program outline. Make a difference in young lives today.
To engage people of all ages in physical activity by providing instruction in boxing techniques as well as general health and fitness.
To educate young people to be more active while arming them with the knowledge they need to make healthier choices.
Obesity is an epidemic among young people today. About 17% of children and adolescents are considered obese.
Our after-school program will include a combination of self-defense, cardio and conditioning classes. Sessions will be held for two hours one day per week. Additional sessions can be held upon request, time permitting.
Boxing, kickboxing and boot camp training techniques will be part of the programming. These disciplines help build confidence, focus, determination, problem solving, self-awareness, communication skills, team work, strategy, relieve stress, burn off excess energy and build mental and physical strength. Integration of mediation techniques, along with lessons in healthy eating, will further enhance this training.
Through the teachings of boxing and kickboxing techniques students will learn how to defend themselves, while also learning the disciple that’s an important part of this training. This will build confidence and lower the chance that participating students will get into confrontations.
